crank seal

any one have tips on how to get a crank seal into the timing cover with the timing cover in the car? i cant get it to go in straight

Big socket that fits the seal always works for me. You want a socket the fits the meatier part of the metal front of the seal, not the outside diameter.

yea i tried a larger metal tube and a rubber mallet.. im gunna make something up at work today... fuckin thing is pissing me off...

Piece of wood over the seal and tab gentle for awhile till you get it with the rubber mallet, mine pissed me off too.
